Misc Backyard Birding

Goldfinches have been showing up in great numbers this year! I didn't have any last year. So nice to see their plumage slowly change for breeding season. 💛😍💛 P4150057 P4130049

Miscellaneous December Photos

Red-winged Blackbirds stopped by for a rare visit due to migration. We don't normally see them here at my house. Red-Winged Blackbird Red-Winged Blackbirds A stunning female red-winged blackbird! PC300005 A very cute chipping sparrow. ❤️ PC230096 Strrrrretch up! PC230069 A poofed pine siskin enjoys a banquet of blanched peanuts on a very chilly Christmas morning. PC250043 PC250053 PC250018 They sure do squabble a lot. And they LOVE eating chipped sunflower seeds at my window feeders. P1050014 PC230078 I've finally made regular visitors of the blue jays. PC270011 PC290053 PC300004 Yellow-rumped warbler investigates buffet options. PC300008 My backyard birds are not too keen on this red-shouldered hawk hanging around lately. I found what I suspect was one of its kills in my back yard a couple of days ago, the remains of a pine siskin. Only the head, wing feathers, and tail feathers remained.
